A team of five of us are embarking on a Top Gear style challenge that has never been done before. In late August 2011 we fly out to Delhi, find a couple of three wheeled motor rickshaws and drive them up into the north of India through Dharamsala, Srinigar and subject to security advice we aim to continue into Kashmir and then over the Zoija La Pass up to Leh the capital of Ladakh. From there we aim to drive up the Khardung-La at 5359 metres and claimed by many to be the highest road in the world. We then continue over yet more stunning mountain passes before finally driving over the Rohtang Pass back to Dharamsala. 2000kms in just over 2 weeks in a three
wheeler with as much power as my grandma’s mobility vehicle! Doomed to failure? Inevitably but if we make it we aim to bag ourselves a place in the Guiness Book of Records for the highest three wheeler in the world!
Are we mad? Perhaps. But one thing’s for sure – it will prove to be a real adventure and we hope to keep you entertained in the run up and along the way. Follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our blog using RSS or by email. We’ll also be uploading photos as we travel so we can show you just how chaotic India can be. If you have any advice, or want to contact us, then we’d love to hear from you.
We’re pleased to announce that we will be raising money for the Shuxiong Schools Fund.
Cut off by snow and ice for 8 months of the year, this is one of the harshest places in the world to live. Many children have to trek miles in freezing temperatures just to make it to school. We will be raising money to not only provide permanent transport for these children but also provide heating for the school and more classroom space so allowing more children to be educated.
It is a wonderful project and any support you are able to give would be massively appreciated.

You can also read more and watch videos of the school on a newly built website
Please DonateOur rickshaws are seriously sought after… I’ll be honest, with a day to find a buyer I didn’t fancy our chances. Having driven them into the river… see blog page for more.
After spending a few days in Leh, we headed out and onto the road to Manali. We’d been warned that during this part of the trip we’d experience some of the roughest roads to date including the mud bath otherwise known as the Rohtang Pass.
We made it! 5359 metres in a rickshaw. The looks on peoples faces as we’ve wizzed by has been classic. We’ve been asked to pose for photos by all and sundry. Beckham eat your heart out. Check out the photos.
We are now safely esconced in Leh high up in the Himalayas after a spectacular last few days. We are continuing to amaze people driving our rickshaws as many of them have never seen rickshaws in these mountains before. Often they just stare open mouthed in disbelief or the children get massively excited and run after us. One Indian we met in Kashmir exclaimed “You are an inspiration to us all” whilst another said “My God” and then proceeded to quiz me for about 20 minutes about what we are doing.
Below are some of the very latest pictures from our travels so far…
